Senior Backend Engineer
Babylon is a top VC-backed blockchain project founded by Claude. E. Shannon Award recipient, fellow of U.S. National Academy of Engineering, Professor David Tse from Stanford University. The project’s mission is to bring Bitcoin’s unparalleled security to the decentralized world via a new public Cosmos-SDK PoS blockchain (Babylon) and a suite of inter-chain protocols. Babylon’s BTC security sharing protocols require a suite of API backends to support adoptions and web services. The project also develops and hosts backends for non-technical, content-oriented websites. We are looking for an experienced backend engineer to join us and own our backend.
Your main responsibilities include:
Lead the design and implementation of our back-end services, involving:
Intuitive APIs for serving Babylon blockchain-related data
A high-performant consumer of blockchain data from a Babylon node through RPC
Closely collaborate with the node development team on the design of intuitive RPC endpoints exposing Babylon node data
Closely collaborate with the infrastructure team for the deployment of the backend services
You are an experienced backend engineer. You are passionate and ambitious about blockchain and want to make the maximum impact and get rewarded. You have solid understanding of software design and development and have high work standards. You are open, responsible, and willing to help others.
Bachelor’s degree in CS, electrical engineering, or equivalent
2+ years of experience in Go
Experience designing and developing scalable backend systems
Experience with blockchain technologies (preferably Cosmos SDK) or willingness to learn
Can take ownership of products from inception to delivery
Familiar with CI/CD pipeline
Can work both independently and as a team member
